KERALA TRADITIONAL VANPAYAR KUMBALAM ERISSERY

Ingredients :

Ripe Pumpkin (sliced) – 1 cup

Red Oriental Beans – 1/2 cup (cooked)

Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp.

Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp.

Green Chillies -2 nos

Pepper – 1/2 tsp.

Curry Leaves-A few

Coconut (grated) – 1 1/2 cup

Ingredients for Seasoning

Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp

Red Chilli – 3-4 nos

Curry Leaves

Salt-Accordingly

Oil-Accordingly

Method of Preparation :

Into a pressure cooker, put red oriental beans, pumpkin Stir the contents well. Pour water and cook.

Prepare a paste with grated coconut, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, Salt, green chillies and pepper. Stir well

Open the lid of the cooker and add the coconut paste and boil it for few minutes

For seasoning, take a pan and heat some oil. Into this add red chillies, mustard, curry leaves.

Stir it well.

Your Erissery is ready to be served.

Stir will open the lid of the cooker and add the coconut paste and boil it for a few minutes for seasoning, take a pan and heat some oil. Into this add red chilies, mustard, curry leaves.
Stir it well
