jackfruit Aviyal Chakka Avial Recipe


Jackfruit bulb-1 cup

Jackfruit seeds-7-8 Numbers

Shallots-8-10 Numbers

Green chilli-2 Numbers

Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon

Red chilly powder-1/4 teaspoon

Curry leaves-1 stripe

Coconut Oil-1 Tablespoon

Salt to taste

For Coconut grind

Grated Coconut-1/2 cup

Cumin Seeds-1/4 teaspoon

Garlic-2 cloves

Green chilli-1 Number

Curry Leaves-2-3 Numbers


First clean and cut the jack fruit, place jackfruit bulb and jackfruit seed together in a cooker. Add Shallots, Green chilli, Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Curry leaves, Coconut Oil, Salt to taste cook it for 4 whistle.

Meanwhile make a paste of coconut including all the ingredients mentioned to grind and keep it aside.

Once the jackfruit is cooked add the grinded coconut and cook for 5 minutes.

If you like the seasoning, you can season it with mustard, curry leaves and red chilies.

Jackfruit avial is ready to serve.
