Kerala Style Idli Recipe

Ingredients

Raw White rice – 2 cups

Black gram – 1 cup

Fenugreek-1/2 Spoon

Salt-Accordingly

Coconut oil

Preparation

Before getting in to the cooking part you need to Soak black gram, Raw white rice and half spoon fenugreek almost for 4 – 5 hours. After that grind both black gram and white rice separately. Mix the mixture well and keep it aside almost 8-10 hours.

It will better for you to do in the night so in the morning you can get the batter. Once the time is complete add the salt and stir it well. Now you can place the idli maker in the stove, add water downside of the make, once it starts to boil add Oil to the idli plates, and pour the batter in the idli maker and place it for boiling. Now you can Cover it with and cook it for some time. Once the steam start you can switch off the stove. Check with a tooth pick whether the idli is cooked properly. If its ok to eat, take it outside from the maker and place it in a plate and have it with sambar and chutney.
